Downtown Parking Ambassador You will direct participants to the various garages and lots that have been reserved just for them. This is an important position--a smooth parking process will put participants in a positive frame of mind for the rest of the weekend. Reserved parking passes will be handed out at Packet Pickup. Have a good time as it passes quickly. Packet pickup is held in conjunction with the Race Expo. Your assignment is to hand out bib envelopes, race bags, and race T-shirts. • Bib numbers are organized first by event (Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K), and then alphabetical by last name. • Race T-shirts will be located behind the packet pick-up tables, and will be arranged in boxes by shirt size and by event (Full/Half Marathon vs. 5K). Friday Race Setup - Shift 1 This is the crew that makes the Race Site come alive--creating the anticipation for the City and the Participants! Under the direction of an experienced Race Crew Leader, you will... 1. Make sure all event tents and equipment are put in the correct place including fencing, scaffold, generators, gators, dumpsters, etc. 2. Make sure portable restrooms are in the proper place at the race site and on the race course. 3. Help put tables, chairs and race site supplies in the correct locations including Finish Line, Medical Tent, Results/Awards Tent, Scoring and Timing Tent, Race Announcer Tent, Supply Trucks, etc. 4. Help put up banners around the race including at the Start Line area, Finish Line area, Finish on Fourth, etc. 5. Help do pre-work on the Race Course with one of our Course Directors including confirming medical tents are in place on the course, putting up Mile Marker signs along the course, making sure other course signage is in place, etc. It is fun to see the Downtown area "come to life" in anticipation of the big event. Gear Check / Results - Shift 1 Before the race, many of the participants will hand over their warmups for you to bag and place in large boxes set up behind the tables. We discourage participants from handing over valuables like phones, keys, money, etc. After the pre-race rush, some of you will be moved to the Results Tent right outside the Commons to help finishers get their results. The rest of you will stay back at the Gear Check station. Those in the Gear Check station will greet finishers and return their gear after they present their race bib to you. Saturday Race Setup This is intense and fun. There is nothing like being up and working it at 4:00am when the rest of the world is still in restful anticipation for the big day! These volunteers will join one of several different set-up crews that will set up the course and “make it happen”!! You will either be on a coning crew (one of four), or a water stop setup crew (one of two). There is a lot to do before the gun fires at 7:30am, but you will be working with an experienced crew chief leading the way! Start: 4:00 AM, 9/28/2019

Kid’s Fun Run

Child Pickup Zone | Kid's Fun Run In order to ensure the safety of all Fun Run participants, a designated Child Pickup Zone will be located at the end of the finish chute, so that children who do not see their parents upon completing the Fun Run will have a safe place to go and to be found. Volunteers and police officers who find lost children will bring them to the Child Pickup Zone. Children’s phone numbers will be located on their Fun Run bibs. Your assignment is to call the phone number and tell parents their child is safely waiting at the Child Pickup Zone. Start: 5:45 PM, 9/27/2019

Course Worker | Kid's Fun Run Course Workers must be able to run alongside or stand in designated areas to direct Fun Run participants, guiding them through the course, to ensure it is completed safely. Your assignment is to keep a watchful eye on the children, making sure no child is becoming over-heated or exhausted, or off-course. If a child appears to be incapable of finishing, course workers need to take the child to the finish chute immediately or relay information to designated course marshal. Finish Line | Kid's Fun Run Your assignment could include 1) handing out medals to all participants upon their completion of the Fun Run 2) remove the tear-offs from the bottom of participants’ bibs once they cross the Finish Line. The tear-offs contain school names and are used to measure each Bartholomew County school’s participation percentage. Having a driver’s license, being bold and being able to give clear directions to drivers who are arriving are good qualities for a volunteer in this position. As a Finish on Fourth After Partry Ambassador, you will be stationed in various positions just one block from the Finish Line. You will help the participants, spectators, and visitors to enjoy over 25 food and craft booths, four bands on our main stage and a huge beer garden. Volunteers meet at the Garage Pub and Grill to receive instructions and their supplies. Start: 9:00 AM, 9/28/2019
